Quad Meshes for Freeform Architecture
The design of freeform architectures with due regard to economic and feasibility aspects is a challenging task.
This talk shows how some special classes of quadrilateral meshes can be useful in the optimization of freeform structures with respect to fabrication aspects, statics, panelization, and visual smoothness of surfaces.
Davide Pellis is a postdoctoral researcher in Applied Geometry at TU wien.
He got a MSc in Building Engineering at University of Florence and a PhD in Structural Engineering at TU Wien in 2019.
His research is focused on architectural geometry, structural optimization, and discrete differential geometry.
